Loft and Walkway

Post by Patriot Prepper » Tue Aug 19, 2014 10:56 pm

I like the lofts you have at both ends of your tiny home, but I am concerned with the look and functionality of the walkway. The most concerning is how it crosses in front of the windows. I think that design aspect of the windows makes the house look larger, both inside and out. If you have the walkway segment the 12 foot window wall, it may make the home look smaller. I think you should eliminate the walkway and use a movable stairway. You could go with something like these two pictures. The stairs with storage could be on retractable wheels. With the walkway gone, you can use proper beams to support the lofts. This is just my opinion though.

When I designed my tiny home I actually planned the catwalk in. I thought it would look amazing from inside and out. So far I am very pleased with the results.
