24x7 solar DC heater application system

Post by ecaits » Mon Jun 06, 2016 4:50 am

In application, DC electric heater maintain the water (approx 50 liters) temperature to 70 degree using battery bank and PV panels, which will operate 24×7.

How should I design the solar system for this application…

A direct solar water heater is more efficient. Use the power of the sun to directly heat up water which is pumped into the water heater storage tank. Then you have the option of using the mains power to heat water on poor sunlight days.

I found that you can use boil on demand

Heat Charge up Metal with Magnetic Induction that it about 2000C 3632F (it melting point) and you can store Energy as Heat in the core for hours in a super insulated container
if you want to take heat from the core you coil a pipe around the flask that holding the molten metal and pump water throw the pipe when you need it

a pipe coil 9ft long will flash boil water using heat from the core as it passes throw

I did find a very affordable
DC 12V ~ 36V - 1000W 20A ZVS High Frequency Induction Heating Machine Heater +Copper Tube

1000W/50A ZVS Induction Heating Machine Module Power Supply DC12V-40V E1E6

The heat up times impressive

If you want a powerless - no combustion - option
look into putting a 100" ft Hosepipe throw a hot composting pile

larger piles you can make them give 1 or 2 years of free heat from the hot compost

I never thought about induction heating for water. Interesting.

I just got a large solar swimming pool heater. It consists of two black tubes, one in each end. Then a whole mess of tiny tubes running between the main pipes. It rolls up when not in use and lays flat to about ten feet long. I figure for summer use I can run it directly. For winter I would need antifreeze mix and a heat exchanger. Not sure if that is worth the effort though.
