So winter is coming. I'd like to know what people here do to reduce their heating expenses and stay comfortable.
How much does your heating costs run per winter/month? What have you done to reduce your heating expenses? How do you heat your home? Any tips you want to share?

Re: Forum Archive idea
I've been an admin over several forums in the past. I believe the only time forum posts/replies should be deleted is if they break the rules. Many forums will automatically move "old topics" (dead topics as well) to an Archived board so they remain for viewing but less likely to get brought back to ...

Online privacy suggestions
So I was just watching Troys latest video and noticed his forum ads targeted his recent search history and I couldn't help but think he could use some tips to prevent such profiling. I could cover the topic very well but it would hinder some of Troys earnings so I will just cover some privacy basics...

Board suggestions
I'm making this post as a general set of suggestions (do with them as you please lol). First off, I suggest merging the Chat Room and General board since both are basically general boards. Maybe put both into a "General" category. Could maybe add a "Suggestions and Bugs" board for members to make su...

Re: Discussions related to security cameras (how to)
If I remember correct, there are ways to have embedded players on websites connect to and stream remote content (like from your home cameras). Don't remember the details right off though. If things get too tight with the bandwidth, you may could switch to static images uploaded every so many seconds...

Re: Gas vapor powered stuff increase MPG a ton
I've heard that metal screening material works good as a spark arrestor but have not been able to test it out. There are also other spark arresting methods for vapor carb setup. I have no small engine to test with so have not bothered with tests. I know from watching the troubles others have that ru...

Re: A Day At The Off Grid Homestead And Tiny House *example
So why can we not embed youtube videos? Is it because Flash is disabled? Embeds can be potentially used by nefarious individuals for nefarious deeds. Of course there are workarounds specifically for forums. Some forums have addons that automatically turn a YouTube video link into an embedded video ...

Re: Where are the new videos being published?
They aren't (yet?). I haven't seen any hints that Troy will post videos to the forum, but it has been suggested by a few people including myself. It is up to him if he decides to do such.
