Reply to Topic : Sponsor?

I am just curious as to the reason that some topics have the reply as (Sponsor) Who is that and why is that there? It gives me the feeling of a advertisement... I am sure myself and others feel its sorta like a AD, no one likes ad's. If it must be there perhaps change it to something less....intrusive? if its waiting for a reply to be answered perhaps make it say pending reply awaiting moderator approval?
I dont know what the reason is that it is there, Hence I am asking. Would like to know why its there!
