I am considering replacing 6 40w G9 halogen bulbs with LED bulbs in a large lamp over a table.. Looking at Amazon adverts several have referred to maximum voltage of 120 or 130v. Exceeding these limits can burn out the bulbs. In Brazil 127v is the most common voltage. This is high enough to make me worry about using LEDs here.
There are plenty of bulbs for sale locally (at around US$10 each). It is possible that they are 'special' 127v bulbs but it is just as likely that they sell normal bulbs and the customer takes a chance. I am about to take a trip to the USA and would like to buy the bulbs there with a saving of around 75%.
Any advice would be appreciated.
